Bend the flexible neck so the lens sits roughly where you need it, then fine tune it once you're over the nail.
Look
Find the quick through the 3x lens: look for the pink in light nails and dark circle in dark nails.
Trim
Cut just outside the quick. Take a little at a time and check again through the magnifying lens.

After years of working in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and hands-on animal care, I saw firsthand how stressful nail trimming could be for pets and the people caring for them.
